Hair loss and wigs

Not all children undergoing treatment for cancer will lose their hair, however treatment with chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy may result in hair loss or thinning. Hair usually grows back after treatment, although it can sometimes be different, in texture or colour than previously. The extent and duration of hair loss varies between individuals and different treatment regimes, your doctor/nurse will be able to provide further advice on this. The Little Princess Trust provide free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their hair through cancer treatment and other conditions.
